Blue light is everywhere. It's in sunlight but it's especially common in digital devices and screens. Too much time staring at screens during the day time means we have too much exposure to blue light which can cause digital eye strain, fatigue, headaches, dry eyes and blurry vision.
Too much blue light at night suppresses the production of melatonin, the hormone needed to tell our body that it's time to go to sleep. It affects our circadian rhythm and disrupts our sleep.
How Do Ocushield Blue Light Filters Help?
Placing an Ocushield blue light filter on your screen blocks up to 99% of blue light in the 300 - 400nm (nanometer) light spectrum range and 40% of blue light in the 400 - 470 nm light spectrum range. The most potent harmful blue light is in the 380 - 450nm range and is known as high energy visible light (HEV), which induces retinal damage and contributes towards inflammation of the skin. It also contributes to symptoms such as eye strain and headaches. It sits across both the UV and visible light spectrum.
